A1 Absolute Best Care Director and Supervisor Dr. Brian Lumar

An experienced public school basketball coach and principal based in Destrehan, Louisiana, Dr. Brian Lumar has served as the director and supervisor at A1 Absolute Best Care in Gretna since 2021. His responsibilities in this position encompass the development of all educational plans, as well as the oversight of direct service workers, personal care assistants, administrative staff, and facilitators. He collaborates closely with case management agencies and related service providers to support consumer needs, while also making regular site visits to consumers’ homes to ensure quality of services. Dr. Brian Lumar is further tasked with matters of staff training and various duties assigned to him by ownership.

Brian Lumar previously spent four years as the principal of Saint Charles Parish Public Schools in Luling, preceded by six years as an assistant principal. He spent a combined 15 years as a teacher and coach at Hahnville High and Archbishop Shaw High School.

Dr. Lumar received his undergraduate degree in communications from Loyola University. He continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a master of administration and policy studies, then completed a doctor of administration and supervision program at Southeastern University.
